Tom will have some of this prepared ahead of time, and we'll help prepare some of it, then we'll all sit down and EAT. **Carried Away is a great spot in Aptos: “Fine Foods To Go”: We've been working with Tom and Mima since before our teenagers were born! They both trained/worked at Chez Panisse many years ago: they are complete pros. Join us: this will be a special lunch!!

Cooking Class History:

#1 at our home ranch in Watsonville : all about Chard and Cooking Greens! We made kale chips, mustard chard, and minestrone. We raised $280 for the Freedom School Garden.

#2 Cook With James: Spring Lamb, Fiorelli Pasta, and more. We raised $270 for Modern Cooks.

#3 at Eve's House in San Francisco: All vegetarian: Summer salads, vegetable tarts, herbal desserts! We raised $175 for Project Open Hand.

The first of our cooking classes for our 2009 series was at our house/home ranch in Watsonville. For future classes I'm hoping to rope in some talent that goes beyond my quick tricks. If any of you has a kitchen and you'd enjoy hosting a cooking class for 12-15 people, let me know. Email me if you have any questions about hosting: .julia@mariquita.com.

Future classes: at Bar Jules in SF, and three potential homes: Los Gatos, Palo Alto, Santa Cruz, and if we can find venues, the following as well!:

- Heidi at 101 Cookbooks: She'll offer a class for us in the late winter: we'll set that date later.
- Harold McGee : We'll do a Question and Answer session with Harold sometime in late 2009 or early 2010.
